Welcome
Welcome to Victoria Road Primary and Nursery School
"Coming together is a beginning
Keeping together is progress
Working together is success." Henry Ford
We hope you will enjoy our website and finding out all about our school. We thank you for your interest in our friendly, caring school and extend a warm welcome to children, parents, carers and families of children who wish to find out more about us. This website is intended to give information about the life, organisation, aims of our school and achievements of our pupils.
On 1st August 2023 we became part of Learning Academies Trust and you can find more information about our Trust and the 18 Plymouth Primary Schools which make up this organisation on our website.
Victoria Road is a friendly school in the heart of the St Budeaux community and our school vision underpins everything we do to ensure that we all become the best version of ourselves. We believe that:
- Every child should feel valued, safe and happy in our school (Belong)
- Every child learns best when the curriculum is fun, engaging and creative (Enjoy)
- Every child should be encouraged to develop their full potential (Aim high)
- Every child should be taught to be aware of the feelings, wishes and rights of others (Respect)
Staff strive to be role models, who inspire a love of learning and are committed to making a positive impact on the lives of all children, regardless of their background, experiences or additional needs. By being healthy in body and mind, we aim to create active learners, who feel confident to problem solve, take risks, and learn from their mistakes. Through creative, broad, and balanced experiences, children are then inspired to be respectful and responsible citizens, and we celebrate the uniqueness and successes of all. We provide a nurturing environment, where everyone feels valued and confident to achieve. Working with parents is key to success, and we acknowledge the vital role of this partnership with parents and carers, and we are committed to developing these relationships.
Please follow our Facebook Page which gives more information. Our aim is to provide a caring, learning community for all our children. Our online prospectus booklet, which can be downloaded in its entirety, should answer any of your questions, but please ask if there is anything else you need to know.
We look forward to working with you so that together we can provide the best education for your child.
If you would like to arrange a tour of the school, please telephone the office on 365411, and we would be delighted to show you around our school in the heart of the St Budeaux community.
